The Plitvice Lakes complex was, for its exceptional lakes, falls and cascades, abundant with flora and fauna and overall nature, accepted as UNESCO’s World Heritage site in 1979. It is said to be one of Europe’s most beautiful national parks. The park is intertwined and connected by forest paths and wooden bridges beneath which flow numerous rivers and brooks. The water flowing over limestone and chalk have, over thousands of years, deposited travertine barriers which in turn created a series of crystal blue lakes and waterfalls. The park invites visitors on an unforgettable walk through almost unreal harmony of nature. Every corner is filled with life…trees in the park are home to bears, wolves, numerous species of rare birds and hundreds of species of butterflies.
Loads of fabulous images to take home from this biking adventure and meditate upon in gloomy winter days. Relax truly and completely nurture all your senses when cruising across the two countries.
